Ex-Guinea Opposition Leader Named Prime Minister
After weeks of political turmoil, ex-Guinea opposition leader, Mamaty Bah, has been appointed as the country’s new Prime Minister. This decision comes as a surprise to many, as Bah has long been a vocal critic of the current government.
However, President Alpha Conde has stated that he believes Bah’s leadership skills and commitment to democracy make her the perfect candidate for the job. In a statement, Conde said, “I have full confidence in Mamaty Bah to lead our nation forward and unite our divided country.”
Many opposition supporters have welcomed Bah’s appointment, seeing it as a step towards greater political inclusivity and transparency. Others, however, remain skeptical of Bah’s ties to the ruling party.
Only time will tell if Bah can truly bridge the gap between Guinea’s political factions and lead the country towards a more peaceful and prosperous future.
