My twin died before prom, now we’re helping others go

It was supposed to be the most magical night of our lives – prom. But just weeks before the big event, tragedy struck. My twin sister, Sarah, passed away in a car accident. The pain of losing her was unbearable, and the thought of going to prom without her by my side was almost too much to bear.

As the days passed and prom grew closer, I knew I couldn’t just sit at home and let the sadness consume me. So, I reached out to my friends and together we came up with an idea – we would start a scholarship fund in Sarah’s memory to help other students attend prom who might not otherwise be able to afford it.

Through fundraisers, donations, and community support, we were able to raise enough money to send several students to prom that year. Seeing the joy on their faces and knowing that we were able to help make their prom dreams come true in Sarah’s memory brought me a sense of peace and healing that I never thought possible.

Now, years later, our scholarship fund has grown and we continue to help students in need attend prom each year. Though the pain of losing my twin will never fully go away, knowing that we are able to honor her memory in such a meaningful way has brought me a sense of purpose and hope for the future.

And so, in Sarah’s memory, we continue to help others go to prom, spreading love and joy in her honor.
