Israeli report says Hamas sexual crimes ‘systematic’
An Israeli report has alleged that the Palestinian militant group Hamas has been committing systematic sexual crimes against women in the Gaza Strip.
The report, released by the Israeli military’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), claims that Hamas has been using sexual violence as a tool to suppress dissent and maintain control over the population.
The document cites testimonies from Palestinian women who have described being sexually assaulted, raped, and subjected to other forms of violence by Hamas members.
“These acts are not isolated incidents but part of a wider pattern of abuse and intimidation orchestrated by Hamas,” said an anonymous source quoted in the report.
The report also alleges that Hamas has been targeting women’s rights activists, journalists, and other members of civil society who have spoken out against the group’s actions.
